Ambikapur: Due to heavy vehicles carrying rice to the rake side behind Ambikapur railway station in Chhattisgarh, the lives of people of four villages have become miserable. On Saturday evening, due to a truck getting stuck on the road, there was a huge jam from the village road to the NH.
Let us tell you that, to transport rice from the rice warehouse located at Chathirma to Ambikapur railway station, the work of transporting rice to the railway rake siding is being done through big trucks using the rural road of Thakurpur road from Ajirma barrier. Due to which Thakurpur road has been in a bad condition. The said road has been built under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and entry of heavy vehicles is prohibited on it. Even after this, the Railways and Civil Supplies Corporation are disregarding the rules and getting the work of transporting rice to the rake side done by heavy vehicles on this road.
Due to this, the villagers of Thakurpur, Amgaon, Bishunpur Khurd and Ajirama are very upset because this is the only route which the villagers use to go to their village homes. On Saturday evening, a huge jam occurred here due to a rice-loaded truck getting stuck on this road. Due to the vehicle getting stuck on the village road, many trucks coming behind it started queuing up and the entire road got jammed and the main road also got jammed due to the queue of trucks on NH-43 via Thakurpur road and Ajirama barrier.
The villagers say that when the railway has built a siding, then the railway should also construct a road to transport the goods to the siding. The railway and the Civil Supplies Corporation, which are earning profit by transporting goods against the rules, need to pay attention to this, otherwise if someday the anger of the people bursts out, then the officials of the government and administration will come themselves and improve the system. The villagers have demanded the district administration and the police department to take cognizance of this and take action.
