Cyber Crime: The Department of Telecommunications has again taken a big action against cyber crime and banned 22 lakh WhatsApp accounts. These WhatsApp accounts are used to cheat people through fake calls and messages. Many users have reported these WhatsApp accounts through the Department of Telecommunications’ Sanchar Sathi portal. DoT is strict to stop the increasing incidents of cyber crime.
Big attack on cyber crime
In the past few days, 4.2 crore mobile numbers have been blocked. Apart from this, IMEI numbers of 27 lakh mobile handsets have also been banned. The Department of Telecommunications has shared this information through its official X handle. DoT told in its post that prevention of cyber fraud! With the help of ‘Sanchar Sathi’, 22 lakh WhatsApp accounts related to cyber crimes have been blocked. This step to stop fake accounts, fraud and cyber thugs is making digital India safe and reliable.
Apart from this, the Department of Telecommunications has made 27 lakh mobile phones unusable to prevent cyber crime. After reporting on the Sanchar Sathi portal, the IMEI number of lakhs of mobile numbers has been blacklisted. Due to this major action taken in all the states and union territories of the country, lakhs of mobile phones are no longer usable.
How to report on Sanchar Sathi portal?
– For this, first you have to go to the website or app of Sanchar Sathi.
– Then you have to enter the number, e-mail etc. from which you have received the call or SMS.
– After this, you have to upload the screenshot of the message or call.
– Now you have to enter the information of the number on which the call or message has come.
– Then fill in the time at which the call or message was received.
– Later you will get OTP after entering your mobile number, e-mail etc.
– Enter the OTP and then the cyber crime will be reported by you on the Sanchar Sathi portal or app.
