Bhopal: Monsoon has completely spread its colors in Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in many districts even today. According to the latest update of IMD, heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the state in the next 24-48 hours due to the effect of an active low pressure area and monsoon trough line. Let’s know what the weather will be like today.
Monsoon raining heavily in Madhya Pradesh
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon has completely engulfed Madhya Pradesh. This year the monsoon entered the state on June 16 via Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa and Burhanpur, which was just a day late from the normal date of June 15. So far, the monsoon has covered the entire state and rain activities are in full swing due to the active seasonal system. June recorded 10-15% more rainfall than normal, and this trend is expected to continue in July as well.
Meteorologists say that a cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh and an active low pressure area in Saurashtra-Kutch of Gujarat are further intensifying the rain. This system will maintain the atmosphere of heavy rain in the state for the next few days.
How will the weather be today?
Today, most parts of Madhya Pradesh will remain cloudy and light to moderate rain is expected in many districts. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rain for some districts, including Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Narmadapuram, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat. These areas may receive 64.5 to 204.4 mm of rain in the next 24 hours.
Major cities like Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior are likely to have maximum temperatures between 32-35 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures between 24-27 degrees Celsius. Due to rain and clouds, a drop of 2-3 degrees can be seen in the temperature.
