Tragic Road Accident in Surajpur: Speeding Car Hits Woman Standing Outside Her Home, Driver Was Drunk

Surajpur: In a heartbreaking road accident that occurred late Wednesday evening in Runiyadih village under Karanji outpost area of Surajpur district, a woman lost her life on the spot after being hit by a speeding car. The woman was standing by the roadside in front of her house when the car, driven by an intoxicated youth, crashed into her. After the collision, the car overturned about 100 meters away in a nearby field.
According to reports, the woman was standing casually outside her home when the car, approaching at high speed, hit her directly. The impact was so severe that she died instantly. After the collision, the vehicle lost control and overturned in the field.
As the news of the accident spread, a large number of villagers gathered at the scene. Upon learning that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, the enraged crowd caught hold of him and thrashed him severely. The situation began to escalate, prompting Karanji outpost police to rush to the spot. The police managed to rescue the driver from the mob and took him into custody.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused driver is a resident of Korea district. The woman’s body has been sent for post-mortem, after which it will be handed over to her family.
