Surajpur: The atmosphere of the district’s Gram Panchayat Ramnagar is once again going to be filled with Shiva. A divine and grand event, the Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha, will be held at the Ramnagar Stadium Ground from October 10th to October 19th, 2025. The event will run daily from 4 pm to 8 pm. Acharya Vinaykant Tripathi of Shridham Vrindavan will narrate the divine exploits of Lord Shiva through his melodious words and introduce devotees to the depths of spirituality, devotion, and religion.
The program will begin with a Kalash Shobha Yatra at 7 am on October 10th, creating an atmosphere of devotion and joy throughout the area. During the Katha, each day will feature renditions of remarkable episodes from the Shiva Purana, including Shivalinga worship, the glories of Rudraksha, Narada’s infatuation, Sati’s character, Parvati’s birth, Shiva-Parvati’s marriage, Ganesha and Kartikeya’s birth anniversary, Nandi Shankar’s incarnation, the Dwadash Jyotirlinga Festival, and the Parthiv Shivalinga Devi character.
On October 18th, a special religious event will commence with the Dhanteras worship ceremony, while the Katha will conclude with a havan (fire sacrifice) and a purnahuti (purnahuti) on the morning of October 19th. Following the Katha each day, a grand feast and prasad distribution will be organized, offering devotees a collective experience of devotion and joy.
Hindu families from Ramnagar, Rampur, Saraswatipur, and Runiyadih, along with surrounding villages, are enthusiastically participating in this sacred event. The organizing committee has appealed to devotees to participate with discipline and devotion and receive the divine blessings of Lord Shiva.
This Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha Mahotsav to be held in Ramnagar is not just a religious program but is going to be a living symbol of devotion, culture and spiritual unity in the society.
