Ambikapur: The Surguja Police Line turned into a stage of discipline and public awareness on Friday as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajesh Kumar Agrawal reviewed the General Parade and delivered a strong message on cyber safety.
Taking the ceremonial salute, SSP Agrawal inspected the formations and emphasized that the role of police personnel extends beyond law enforcement – they must also act as ambassadors of cyber security in their communities.
During the inspection, 31 officers and constables were recognized for their outstanding turnout and presented with rewards, a gesture aimed at motivating the force to maintain professionalism. The police band added a ceremonial touch to the occasion, while dog handlers were specifically instructed to ensure proper care and diet for the K9 units.
The SSP also examined the vehicle unit, armory, and stores section. He underscored the importance of keeping government vehicles well-maintained, driver logs updated, and arms and ammunition safely documented and preserved.
A major highlight of his address was the call for police personnel to actively promote cyber awareness among citizens. SSP Agrawal urged both officers and the public to follow the official Surguja Police handles on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), where safety advisories and awareness videos are regularly posted. He stressed that such initiatives can help prevent crimes before they occur.
Traffic personnel too were reminded of their role as the first visible representatives of Surguja Police at busy intersections. SSP Agrawal instructed them to remain disciplined and to use their presence to spread the message of road safety.
The parade was attended by Additional SP Amolak Singh Dhillon, Reserve Inspector Tripti Singh Rajput, Sub-Inspector Dilip Dubey, and a total of 178 officers and staff from various police stations and offices across the district.
