Sitapur MLA Ramkumar Toppo takes action in Mainpat, gives instructions to close two illegal bauxite mines

Ambikapur/Dipesh Kushwaha: Finally action has been taken against illegal bauxite excavation in village Keshara and Pathrai of Mainpat area of Surguja district. After receiving continuous complaints, Sitapur MLA Ramkumar Toppo reached Mainpat and inspected the spot and taking immediate action, directed the officials of CMDC (Chhattisgarh Minerals Development Corporation) to close both the mines.
It is being said that bauxite stones were being extracted from these mines without a valid permit. Not only this, the workers engaged in the excavation work were also not being paid wages on time. MLA Toppo said that this is not only a violation of rules, but also exploitation of the rights of poor workers.
It is noteworthy that CMDC’s guidelines were also not being followed in these mines. Bauxite excavation was being done completely illegally, regarding which the local villagers had also been raising their voice from time to time.
